Scholarships

• CU Latino Alumni Association & CU Financial Aid are Partnering to Put on a Two-Part Scholarship Workshop Series:
• MONDAY, February 24th, 6:00-7:00pm: How to Write an Effective Scholarship Essay, Taught by University of Colorado Boulder Instructor Angelina Ramos
• TUESDAY, February 25th, 6:00-7:00pm: How to Fill Out the FAFSA as an Incoming high school student, undocumented student, or current CU student! Spanish-fluent financial aid advisors (Gloria & Elena) will be present!!! FAFSA= Federal Application for Federal Student Aid.
• WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Parents, High School Seniors or Juniors, Current CU Students
• WHERE : Both workshops are located on University of Colorado at Boulder campus, in Classroom Hellems 201
• WHEN: 6:00-7:00pm, Monday, February 24th and Tuesday, February 25th, 2014
• WHY: The CU Scholarship Application is open NOW -March 1, 2014 & to be eligible, you have to fill out the FAFSA and submit essays and all supporting material by soon-approaching-deadlines! Advisors will be present to show undocumented students how to fill out fafsa w/o a social security number necessary!

Now accepting applications for KP Colorado Diversity Scholarship Program through Friday, March 21st, 2014!
• DESCRIPTION: The goal of our Diversity Scholarship Program is to provide under-represented populations a chance at earning a degree, so they can make a positive impact on the community, and assist people in need. All qualified students are encouraged to apply including those who identify as African American, Asian Pacific, Latino, Native American, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, individuals with a disability, and/or U.S. veterans.
• ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS: Students who meet the following requirements are eligible:
- Veterans who have served and are ready to enter college or graduate school
- Graduating high school seniors or GED recipients entering or currently enrolled in a post-secondary school as a full-time student
- Active full-time undergraduates
- Active full-time graduate or doctoral level students (e.g. graduate school, pharmacy school, or medical school) and
- Has a minimum high school or post-secondary GPA of 2.7 or a GED score of 520
- Are Colorado residents
- Are planning to/or are currently attending a publicly funded Colorado college or university

• The GLBTQ Resource Center, the GLBT Alumni Chapter, the LGBT Studies Certificate Program and the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences sponsor annual scholarships for students in the CU GLBTQIA community. These scholarships are made available through many generous donors. The deadline for the 2014-2015 scholarship applications is Friday April 25, 2014.
